PROJECT MUSKAN
One smile at a time, we can change a child’s world.
Muskan began in Dhauj village, Haryana, where we met an Anganwadi worker whose daughter hadn’t eaten, slept, or spoken in weeks after losing her father. No one had asked if she was grieving, only why she wasn’t studying. It was a reminder that emotional distress in children often remains invisible, yet it plays a critical role in shaping their future. Project Muskan was created to bridge this gap.
In India, we have just 0.75 psychologists for every 100,000 people, one-fourth the WHO’s minimum recommendation. And in rural areas, this number drops further. It is hard to ignore India's silent suffering and the silent suffering of our youngest, most vulnerable citizens, our children, is often left entirely unheard.
We conduct psychological screenings under the supervision of professionals.
Cases in need of clinical intervention are referred to our partner psychologists we also fast-track cases for emergency care.
We provide culturally sensitive, non-clinical tools for children facing stress, anxiety, or sadness.
We engaged with children across Delhi NCR reaching over 300 students through mental health literacy workshops, school sessions, and screenings. In each session, a psychologist accompanied our team. This allowed us to flag children with learning disabilities, conduct issues, or emotional dysregulation, identifying their distress for their host schools and NGOs for necessary care.
